Special guest artist Jove Wang  will teach a five-day workshop prior to the festival (Oct 10 - 14, 2016) and then will lead a small group of painters focused on creative figurative painting from life as part of the festival.

This group of artists will work with models in the studio at the arts center for the first four days of the festival and then pursue outdoor scenarios.

Jove presented a talk and figurative painting demonstration at the National Plein Air Convention in Tucson in April and his demonstration then sold for a record price for a demonstration peice at that event.

Jove’s theme of “Instinct and Feeling” as the most important part of the painting process is discussed in his book of that title, in his workshops and is clearly present in his paintings.
